O Brasil é um país que se destaca mundialmente na produção de arroz, sendo o estado do Tocantins um dos importantes produtores dos grãos, responsável por 15,5 % (R$ 248 milhões) do valor bruto da produção (VBP) da safra de grãos 2011/2012, que foi de R$ 1,6 bilhões. Pesquisa descritiva documental com levantamento do diagnóstico acerca da cadeia produtiva do arroz na região Tocantina, sendo realizada para análise da cadeia as matrizes SOWT e GUT. Objetivando-se, a descrição dos principais pontos fortes e fracos da cadeia, bem como das ameaças e oportunidades frente a essa cadeia produtiva.
