Di kedalaman hutan, hiduplah kelompok semut yang dipimpin oleh seorang raja. Mereka bekerja sama membuat sarang yang besar sebagai tempat mereka menyimpan makanan.
Suatu hari, terdapat rombongan gajah yang melintasi hutan itu, karena badan mereka yang besar, mereka menginjak sarang semut hingga hancur.Sang raja semut marah besar, dia menantang rombongan gajah itu. Tentu saja gajah menerima tantangan dari semut-semut kecil itu.
Keesokan harinya, kelompok gajah dan semut bertemu di sebuah lapangan . sang raja semut berteriak "serang!" , perang pun dimulai. Gajah-gajah itu mengambil nafas dalam-dalam dan menghembuskannya dengan kuat sehingga membuat semut-semut terpental .
Tanpa disadari, beberapa ekor semut masuk kedalam belalai gajah-gajah itu , mereka menggigit bagian dalam belalai gajah yang sangat lembut sehingga gajah-gajah itu kesakitan.
Kelompok gajah itu pun menyerah dan melarikan diri dari hutan itu. Pasukan semut itu sangat gembira dan mereka kembali hidup dengan damai di dalam hutan
