Результаты исследования являются актуальными, так как дошкольный возраст это важный этап развития этнической идентичности личности. На этот процесс влияют различные факторы, связанные с географической, культурной, языковой, экономической спецификой проживания. В результате теоретической, методологической и эмпирической работы была разработана и внедрена образовательная система по формированию этнической идентичности ребенка в детском саду. Научная новизна исследования заключается в разработке научно обоснованной системы этнокультурного образования детей дошкольного возраста на приграничных территориях России (на примере Псковской области). В исследовании использованы принципы интеграции на уровне целей, содержания (образовательные области), методов и средств (логические игры и задачи на определенном содержании). В рамках проекта была использована педагогическая диагностика представлений детей дошкольного возраста об архитектуре родного города. Результаты исследования внедряются на экспериментальных площадках г. Пскова, Псковского района, г. Санкт-Петербурга и г. Калининграда.
Результаты исследования представлены на десяти научных мероприятиях международного уровня (конференции, семинары, симпозиумы) и в одинадцати публикациях (Web of Science, Scopus, Google Scholar).
