Sein Diplombuch "Gangster. Die Bosse von Chicago" fand zum Glück gleich einen Verleger und Nippoldt konzentrierte sich fortan auf die Buchkunst. Nach zweijähriger Arbeit erschien im Herbst 2007 sein zweites Buch "Jazz im New York der wilden Zwanziger", das von der Stiftung Buchkunst zum "schönsten deutschen Buch 2007" gekürt wurde. "Hollywood in den 30er Jahren" erschien 2010 und ist das dritte Buch der Trilogie über das Amerika der 20er & 30er Jahre.
