Thanks to the close cooperation of bags and the Wildenstein Institute, the standard work by José López-Rey is in an updated form. With new, first time published photographs of recently restored paintings of the tape shows the entire oeuvre of the artist. The authors: José López-Rey (1905-1991) studied art history in his hometown of Madrid and Florence, Brussels, Paris and Vienna. He taught at the University of Madrid, until he was in 1939 forced by the political upheavals, to leave Spain and build a new life in the United States. At the Institute of Fine Arts in New York reüssierte López-Rey, a renowned professor and researcher, and for his contributions as an active member of the Foundation for Art Research was awarded to him by the Southern Methodist University in Dallas the honorary doctorate. As the author of over one hundred scientific publications and ten books on the Spanish painting, López-Rey has made particularly with his publications on Goya name. With his publications to Velázquez he became an expert with worldwide reputation. Odile Delenda was after the conclusion of the École du Louvre there initially worked as a professor and later, until 2007, Special Representative of the painting collection of the Musée du Louvre. She has participated in numerous exhibitions of Old Masters. Since 1990 she has been working for the Wildenstein Institute in Paris and dedicated to their research there on the Spanish art of the Golden Age. Delenda is among other things the author of Velasquez, peintre religieux (1993) and the first critical catalog raisonné of Francisco de Zurbarán and his school (2009/10), which was published under the auspices of the Wildenstein Institute.
