Yamaha and Roland Sands have teamed

Yamaha and Roland Sands have teamed up again for another custom motorcycle. Called the Faster Wasp, it's a retro-themed crotch rocket that pays tribute to the legendary TZ750 but uses entirely modern components. It's a formula its creators call Faster Sons, which in this case takes the form of the bumblebee you see here.

The Faster Wasp is the fifth collaboration between Yamaha and Roland Sands Design, and is built around an 850cc inline-three wedged into an aluminum frame. From there, Sands and company custom-fabricated the gas tank, tail, intake, radiator covers, and front fender all out of aluminum. RSD also employed a custom timing cover, rear brake reservoir, case guards, chain guard, timing plug, axle sliders, gas cap, and brakes.

The whole thing rides on 17-inch forged aluminum wheels coated with Dunlop Q3 rubber, with a Two Bros Racing exhaust and Renthal sprockets. The list of special components goes on and on, but the sum total is a fitting tribute to motorcycle legends Kenny Roberts and Shinya Kimura - and one that just might convert some of the four-wheel faithful among us into blissful knee-draggers.
