Kiiltepe. On the inner citadel, over 6o rooms of the palace of the kings of Kanesh have now been cleared, Prof. Tahsin Ozgiiu reports. The destruction of the enclosure wall and the palace by enemy action in the 8th century B.C. was not as damaging to the remains as the reuse of the inner citadel wall in Hellenistic times. In the Karum, every season increases the number of archives, with good recent finds in the Ib level. The Ankara Museum now has about i8,ooo tablets from Kiiltepe.
