โรงเรียนพระปริยัติธรรมวัดปิตุลาธิราชรังสฤษ ต.หน้าเมือง อ.เมือง จ. ฉะเชิงเทรา ถือว่าเป็นวัด ที่เก่าแก่คู่บ้านคู่เมืองมานาน มีอายุราว ๒๐๐ ปีมาแล้ว และเป็นวัดที่ตั้งอยู่ริมแม่น้ำบางปะกง โรงเรียนพระปริยัติธรรมวัดปิตุลาธิราชรังสฤษ ได้ย้ายมาจากโรงเรียนวัดจุกเฌอ (ปริยัติสายสามัญ) เมื่อเดือนพฤษภาคม พ.ศ.๒๕๕๐ ซึ่งให้การสนับสนุนด้านการศึกษามาตั้งแต่อดีตจนถึงปัจจุบันด้วยดีเสมอมาทั้งแผนกธรรมบาลี - สามัญศึกษา และได้ปรับปรุงเปลี่ยนแปลงการเปิดเรียนตามหลักสูตรต่าง ๆ มาโดยตลอด จะเห็นได้จากเมื่อปี พ.ศ. ๒๕๒๕ เปิดเป็นโรงเรียนพระปริยัติธรรม (แผนกบาลี)
เมื่อ พ.ศ. ๒๕๔๑ ได้เปิดเป็นโรงเรียนพระปริยัติธรรมแผนกสามัญศึกษา คือ ระดับมัธยมศึกษาตอนต้น เมื่อวันที่ ๑๑ พฤศจิกายน ๒๕๔๑ ได้เปิดทำการเรียนการสอน เมื่อวันที่ ๑๖ พฤษภาคม ๒๕๔๑ ตั้งแต่ชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ ๑-๓ และได้รับอนุญาต ให้เปิดทำการสอนระดับมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ ๑-๓ และได้อนุญาต ให้เปิดทำการสอนระดับมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลายเมื่อวันที่ ๑๖ มิถุนายน ๒๕๔๖ เป็นโรงเรียนพระปริยัติธรรม (แผนกสามัญศึกษา) สังกัดกรมการศาสนา กระทรวงศึกษาธิการ ต่อมาสังกัดสำนักงานพระพุทธศาสนาแห่งชาติ การศึกษาในช่วงนี้เริ่มเป็นรูปแบบเป็นระบบมากขึ้นในด้านการบริหารจัดการใช้ชื่อว่า โรงเรียนวัดจุกเฌอ (แผนกสามัญศึกษา) ตั้งอยู่ที่ วัดจุกเฌอ ตำบลคลองจุกเฌอ อำเภอเมืองฉะเชิงเทรา จังหวัดฉะเชิงเทรา ๒๔๐๐๐ และได้ย้ายมาตั้ง ณ ที่วัดปิตุลาธิราชรังสฤษในปัจจุบัน
