วันพระต้องรักษาศีล ๘ ในวันธรรมดาชาว

วันพระต้องรักษาศีล ๘
ในวันธรรมดาชาวพุทธต้องถือศีล ๕
ให้บริสุทธิ์บริบูรณ์

และควรถือศีล ๘ ในวันพระ
เท่ากับเราได้เป็นต้นบุญต้นแบบในการช่วยกันฟื้นฟูวันพระ
ให้ชาวพุทธทั้งหลายได้เห็นคุณค่า
วันพระไหน ที่ตรงกับวันทำงาน เราก็ถือศีล ๘
เมื่อเพื่อนร่วมงานถามเราจะได้ตอบว่า
เราถือศีล ๘ เพราะวันนี้เป็นวันพระ
ใหม่ ๆ เขายังไม่เข้าใจ เขาอาจจะหัวเราะ
และว่า เราเชย เรางมงาย หรืออะไรก็แล้วแต่
เราก็ต้องใจเย็น ๆ ค่อย ๆ อธิบายให้เขาฟังว่า ไม่ใช่เชย ไม่ใช่งมงาย แต่นี่เป็นธรรมเนียมปฏิบัติของชาวพุทธเราเป็นชาวพุทธเราก็จะต้องปฏิบัติอย่างนี้

ได้ทั้งประโยชน์ตน ประโยชน์ท่าน
และเป็นทางมาแห่งบุญของเราด้วย
