Perubahan tutupan lahan di areal Blok A KFCP disebabkan oleh pembukaan hutan rawa sekunder menjadi ladang oleh masyarakat atau yang disebut dengan mahimba dan bahurambung. Mahimba merupakan kegiatan masyarakat cara membuka hutan untuk dijadikan sebagai ladang. Bahurambung adalah pembukaan lahan bekas ladang tahun sebelumnya yang akan dijadikan ladang. Perubahan tutupan lahan biasanya terjadi setelah bulan September dikarenakan masyarakat sudah mulai membakar untuk menyiapkan lahan.
