Penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga variabel laten, yaitu kualitas layanan, kepuasan pasien dan loyalitas. Sementara jumlah variabel manifes (indikator variabel) digunakan untuk mengukur variabel laten adalah sebanyak 33 indikator. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua pasien yang telah dirawat di Rumah Sakit Medika Permata Hijau.
Ukuran sampel adalah 170 responden. Jumlah ini adalah analisis SEM sesuai yang menyatakan bahwa ukuran sampel harus dipenuhi dalam pemodelan SEM adalah jumlah minimum untuk
100-200 (Ferdinand, 2002). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dengan personaly administrared
survei, survei dilakukan dengan responden dan kemudian meminta kesediaan mereka
untuk menjawab beberapa pertanyaan dalam kuesioner yang berkaitan dengan identitas. Dan tanggapan terhadap indikator dalam kualitas perawatan, kepuasan pasien dan loyalitas pasien. Para peneliti juga sebelumnya menjelaskan tujuan penyebaran kuesioner. Metode ini dilakukan dalam pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah, dengan kuesioner dan metode wawancara. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah wawancara. Wawancara dibagi menjadi dua wawancara terstruktur dan tidak terstruktur. Terstruktur wawancara bahwa data yang dikumpulkan melalui pertemuan langsung atau tatap muka langsung dengan responden untuk mempersiapkan daftar alternatif jawaban untuk pertanyaan tertulis yang telah disiapkan yang digunakan untuk mendapatkan informasi tentang penilaian responden dari penilaian responden terhadap objek penelitian (Sugiyono 2008). Tiga pertimbangan yang digunakan dalam menentukan responden yaitu pasien yang sudah dirawat di rumah sakit> 2 hari, pasien memiliki setidaknya tinggi tingkat pendidikan sekolah, dan pasien yang tidak bekerja di Rumah Sakit Medika Permata Hijau. Data yang dikumpulkan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner. Skala pengukuran yang digunakan adalah skala Likert dengan setiap pertanyaan memiliki lima kategori: jawabannya sangat tidak setuju diberi skor 1, tidak setuju diberi skor 2, setuju dan tidak setuju dinilai 3, setuju diberi skor 4, dan disepakati diberikan skor dari 5 (Maholtra 2009). Model analisis data menggunakan analisis Structural Equation Modeling (SEM).
