Replacing the battery Recalibration software transfer
When the controller's screen shows a warning message like the one here beside you must replace the battery.
The battery to be replaced is VARTA 2032 * mounted on PCB (Process Control Block).
* This is a special version with welded legs.
The exact version of the battery is CR2032 PCBD2 with welded legs 15.2 mm wheelbase. For its overall design, please click below link:

WARNING: unsolder the old battery and re-weld the new operator unwary can damage irreversibly the PCB.
Once you have replaced the battery, you must install 2 new files on the controller software.
There are the following files, which you will have allocated in a special directory on your computer:
KobraEL-2H-547.H86
Kobra H86-Reset
TQLoad.xxx, which you will rename in your directory TQLoad.exe
Steps to follow:
A) transfer the software Kobra H86-Reset on the Controller that you have replaced the battery.
B) After the transfer, you will see the following message appear on the display:
System Reset successful. Calibration restored. Please load current software now!
C) Transferred the software KobraEL-2H-547.H86 on the controller.
D) After this transfer, the controller already works as usual, but the work should be completed with the subsequent amplitude calibration and pressure.
To run the software on the controller transfer is a necessary, after you create the appropriate directories on your computer, where you have files
• TQLOAD.EXE
•.....-Reset. H86
•.....-5.47. H86.
You must:
1) Connect the "Download cable” between the COM port of your computer (9 pin connector) and “Datapack” port on the rear panel of the controller (25 pin connector).
This cable was supplied with the welder Kobra.
2) Switch on the controller.
3) Launch the program TQLOAD.EXE.
4) If necessary, make sure to change the COM port that you actually use to transfer the software by going to the upper-left corner of the program window shown here. COM1 is selected by default, but if you use another COM port on your computer, you need to do to change this setting.
5) Select the file.H86 to transfer.
6) Select "GO" button.
7) You will see the current transfer and the outcome of the transfer.
Cable for download software:
• The cable for download software is a 9 pin* cable (PC side) and 25 pin (Controller side)
*This is not a commercial cable, but it’s made specifically from Schunk/Stapla.
If your computer does not have a 9 pin serial port, it’s necessary to catch up a USB cable – serial port with its drivers for your computer.
USB-serial port
After the battery was replaced and the software was loaded on the controller you must calibrate the controller regarding to amplitude and pressure.
To run the recalibration you must follow these steps:
1. Switch off the controller
2. Locate at the back of the controller the 37 pin connector. Remove the plug and make a bridge between 23 and 30 pins (not replace at the plug position)
3. Turn on the controller
4. Go to SYSTEM RESET
5. Go to CALIBRATION:
a. Select AMPLITUDE calibration and set min. 350; Max. 650.
b. Select PRESSURE calibration, and set 52 (at 2 bar) and 132 (at 5 bar).
6. Switch off the controller; remove the bridge between 23 and 30 pins and replace the 37-pin plug.
7. Switch on the controller. The machine is ready to work again.
