2.9. 5-Caffeoylquinic acid (5-CQA)
A 500 mL amount of the coffee brew was diluted up to 50 mL
with milliQ water. HPLC analysis was carried out with an analytical
HPLC unit model 1100 ,
equipped with a binary pump and an automated sample injector. A
Hypersil-ODS column (5 mm particle size, 250 mm 4.6 mm) was
used. The chromatographic separation was achieved at 25 C by
using a gradient solvent system with acetonitrile/water adjusted to
pH 3.0 with a phosphoric acid solution according to the method
described by Perez-Martinez, Sopelana, De Peña, and Cid (2008).
The wavelength of detection was 325 nm.
