The other crystalline phase present in cement hydration, portlandite, Ca(OH)2, shows two
prominent sharp peaks, the first one at 3645 cm-1due to the presence of OH stretching and
the second one at 353 cm-1
assigned to Ca-O lattice vibrations (Figure 11).
