Sistem pencernaan mempunyai pengaruh besar dalam hal mencerna makanan, mulai dari mulut , esophagus, lambung, usus halus, usus besar hingga sisa - sisa makanan dikeluarkan lagi melalui rektum lalu anus. Seperti proses – proses ataupun mekanisme pencernaan di usus halus, yang adanya reaksi – reaksi enzimatis dan lain – lain. Hal tersebut akan berjalan baik jika tubuh manusia sehat, tetapi pada keadaan tertentu, seperti adanya peradangan atau inflamasi akan menyebabkan makanan yang dicerna tidak akan diproses dengan baik yang akan berakibat manusia tidak bisa maksimal menjalanankan aktivitasnya, contohnya ketika mengalami demam thypoid.
