The third initiative I want to highlight might be the most important one – after all, this is a people business, and at the end of the day, if our people are note delivering on our strategy, it’s just going to remain a power point presentation on someones hard drive.
MSLGROUP has, of course, like all agencies, a competency framework, based on which we hire, retain, reward and fire people. Our model was built according to the way PR used to be, and to walk the talk, we needed to make sure that the people who were promoted and rewarded in our systems weren’t necessarily the ones who really really could make a perfect press conference, but those who would be able to deliver on the i3 strategy. We also built in a broader sense of people carachteristics – the world is changing so fast, and what is true today might not be true tomorrow, and we really want and need to hire people who are agile and who can – and enjoy! – to adjust to new realities without hanging on too much to the old and refusing to let go.
