Με την παρούσα θα θέλαμε να σας παρουσιάσουμε ένα μικρό ξενοδοχείο που έχουμε στήσει στη λακωνική Μάνη. Με μεγάλη προσπάθεια και πολλή υπομονή καταφέραμε να φτιάξουμε κάτι που αγαπάμε πολύ και για το οποίο έχουμε αποσπάσει κατ' αποκλειστικότητα θετικά ως ενθουσιώδη σχόλια. Πρόκειται για ένα παραδοσιακό κτίσμα που βρίσκεται σε μια όμορφη περιοχή στις παρυφές της Αρεόπολης Λακωνίας, πάνω από τον κόλπο του Διρού, με κήπο γεμάτο μυρωδιές, απέραντο ουρανό και θάλασσα, και τη νύχτα εκατομμύρια αστέρια ακριβώς απέναντι στον Σκορπιό και το τρεμοφέγγισμα του κόκκινου Αντάρη του. Το ξενοδοχείο (δυναμικότητας 12 δωματίων) λέγεται "Αντάρης" ("Antares"), βρίσκεται περίπου ένα χιλιόμετρο από την Αρεόπολη, πάνω από τον κόλπο του Διρού, και μπορεί κάποιος να πάρει μια καλή ιδέα στο www.antareshotel.gr (email: [e-mail], τηλ. Τα περισσότερα δωμάτια έχουν ιδιωτική βεράντα ή μπαλκόνι, απ’ευθείας πρόσβαση στον κήπο (ανεξάρτητη είσοδο), μοναδική θέα στη θάλασσα, τον ήλιο και ένα εξαιρετικό φυσικό περιβάλλον.


Οι συνθήκες στη χώρα μας είναι δύσκολες οικονομικά, αλλά αυτό που μπορούμε με χαρά να κάνουμε είναι να υποδεχθούμε ταξιδιώτες από όλο τον κόσμο, να τους καθοδηγήσουμε να γνωρίσουν την περιοχή και τα καλύτερα μέρη της και να τους μεταδώσουμε αγάπη για τη Μάνη και την Ελλάδα. Οι παραλίες στην περιοχή και τη χερσόνησο είναι μοναδικές. Κρυστάλινα καθαρά νερά, ελεύθερες από επεμβάσεις, ήρεμες, διατηρημένες. Οι βόλτες στα χωριά είναι πανέμορφες και πολλές φορές μοιάζουν σαν επισκέψεις σε ανοιχτά μουσεία. Οι δραστηριότητες στην περιοχή μπορούν να περιλάβουν επίσκεψη στα σπήλαια του Διρού, που θεωρούνται από τα πιο όμορφα σπήλαια-λίμνες στον κόσμο. Το μουσείο νεολιθικής εποχής δίπλα στα σπήλαια περιλαμβάνει μια διαφωτιστική συλλογή ευρημάτων από οστά ανθρώπων και ζώων ως εργαλεία και όπλα. Όλη η χερσόνησος της Μάνης είναι πανέμορφη. Αρχαίοι τόποι, μοναδική αρχιτεκτονική, πύργοι και πυργόσπιτα, ερείπια ιστορικών οικισμών, αγνό φυσικό περιβάλλον και ευχάριστη χαλαρωτική απλότητα. Άλλο χαρακτηριστικό της Μάνης, οι βυζαντινές εκκλησίες με μαρμάρινο διάκοσμο καθώς και τοιχογραφίες. Οι βόλτες στα χωριά τις περιοχής είναι συναρπαστικές.
