Task: Using the project proposal guide, write a proposal for a body of work that responds to the theme of ‘Down The Rabbit Hole.’ This theme is drawn from Lewis Carroll’s texts including Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Tim Burton’s contemporary cinematic interpretation, Alice in Wonderland. Students will respond to the theme of ‘Down the Rabbit Hole’ by creating a body of work primarily within the forms of wearable art and make-up design, and optionally prop design. These elements will be used in Term 2 in individual and collaborative photo shoots. Within your proposed body of work you must include at least one wearable artwork.
ASSESSMENT CRITERIA - You will be assessed on your ability to:
• Independently propose a project.
• Develop and describe extended concepts for a body of work that makes reference to other artworks or artists including Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland.
• Display examples of form and subject matter that you wish to use for your project, and record the development of forms and subject matter through research in art history art criticism and art making.
1. Time Due: Tasks must be submitted to the teacher by 3.15pm of the date due.
2. Late Penalty: 10% per school day late to a maximum of 50% will be taken from the given assessment task mark if submitted late without an approved extension.
3. Extensions: No extensions of time are granted for assessment tasks unless extension requests are accompanied by a medical certificate or other approved documentation (letter from parent/carer). The granting of an extension is left to the discretion of the Curriculum Leader and should not be presumed.
4. Absence on due date: Any student absent from the College, without prior arrangement, on the day a task is completed, must: [a] produce a medical certificate (where the absence relates to an illness or injury) or other approved documentation (letter from parent/carer) and present it to the teacher on their first day of return; [b] attempt the task, or a replacement, within five days of returning to the College.
5. Plagiarism/Cheating/Non Serious Attempt: A student who is deemed to have plagiarised their work, cheated in any way or makes a non-serious attempt and that includes answers which contain frivolous or objectionable material, may receive 0% for the task at the discretion of the Curriculum Leader.
