Le collège Hoàng Sa se situe dans une zone en retard économique. En particulier, la plupart des habitants sont des pêcheurs. Selon le directeur du Service de l’éducation et de la formation de Dà Nang, Nguyên Dinh Vinh, la construction du collège Hoàng Sa a pour objet de diminuer la surcharge du collège Ly Tu Trong et de donner de meilleures conditions d’étude aux enfants des pêcheurs du littoral.

Le collège a été baptisé «Hoàng Sa» car ses élèves sont essentiellement des enfants de pêcheurs, de soldats et de cadres de l'armée, ou encore de garde-frontières, et plus particulièrement des forces maritimes. «Nous nous sommes intéressés à l’investissement dans les infrastructures et le matériel pédagogique afin de relever la qualité de l’enseignement», partage M. Vinh.

Le collège Hoàng Sa est un bâtiment de trois étages abritant neuf salles d’étude et laboratoires. Le Bureau de l’éducation et de la formation de l’arrondissement de Son Trà l’a équipé 20 ordinateurs. Cet établissement possède en outre une bibliothèque et une autre salle d'informatique. Cette année scolaire, le collège accueille plus de 500 élèves. «En tant qu’élève du collège Hoàng Sa, le nom d’un archipel de la Patrie, je suis très heureuse et fière. Quand je chante l'hymne national à l'école, je trouve que c’est sacré !», déclare Nguyên Tuong Vy.

«Aujourd’hui, les infrastructures et le matériel pédagogique sont très bons. Mais la plupart des élèves d’ici sont des enfants de pêcheurs pauvres, qui sont très occupés et ne s’intéressent pas réellement à leurs études. Nous nous efforçons constamment de les aider et de leur donner les conditions de venir à l’école», explique la directrice Mai Huyên Thu Hoài.
