Wouldn't work.
Most of the recycling made is made in error (even automatic ones) and after years of linear data I strongly believe that will never change.
One thing we could never get right is the inconsistency of activity. When I was a bit naive a few years ago I have a belief: That activity was something degrading (started somewhere and then decayed throughout time). Time has taught me that most of what we got here all these years is that there's an undeniable twist: Users start active, lower their activity, come to a halt (most of the times), but then come back (think "zombies" for a moment).
That's why the 7 days' recycling for Ultimate Golden Pack members is a double edge blade: It can help them but most of the time it causes good referrals (and no, no one can guess that) to be removed. The lock helps a lot but few are those that efficiently use it and even those can't predict what can happen.
I obviously cannot tell members not to rely in automated recycling since it would sound like "don't use free features" but since I need to be honest, and I've mentioned this quite a few times, automatic recycling can cause more harm than good.
There are a few members that have done wonders with lots of referrals combining automatic and manual recycling with logical (or voodoo like) usages of the lock while the rest just keep under what they think is a normal average and there's no way to teach them otherwise (nor wouldn't I since it involves lots of reasoning to remove one's superstitions).
I came to accept that there are 3 kinds of members (regardless of their membership):
1) Those who simply don't care (luckily rare).
2) Those who pretend they care and complain simply because they do nothing or little to achieve good results (more than I wish we had).
3) Those who work hard (and by "hard" I don't mean managing less than 10% of their referrals every day) and obtain marvellous results (just a few users unfortunately).
I place myself as a "2.5" since I don't have the stomach to not caring but I also don't have the time needed to be a "3".
So, all of this just to say that most just go with the wind (complaining or not as they hit the trees while being dragged by it) and those will never (or hardly ever) change their passive way of acting simply because they don't want to change their way of thinking.
I did like the idea (to me as a user it would be cool) but would be catastrophic globally.
