Water quality monitoring happens when water quality surveys are performed on a regular basis for a specific purpose on a particular body of water. Water quality monitoring involves recording data about these various characteristics and usually involves analyzing and interpreting these data. Monitoring helps ensure that a water body is suitable for its determined use. It can also be used for protective purpose to prevent degradation or to upgrade the class. There are many ways to monitor water conditions. Monitoring specialists sample the chemical condition of water, sediments, and fish tissue to determine levels of key constituents such as dissolved oxygen, nutrients, metals, oils, and pesticides. In general observation we also look for the oil on surface of water that can tell us what kind of chemical that can be contaminated in to the water. They also monitor physical conditions such as temperature, transparent (by eyes), sediments, and the erosion potential of stream banks and lake shores. Biological measurements of the abundance and variety of aquatic plant and animal life and the ability of test organisms to survive in sample water are also widely used to monitor water conditions. In general observation we also look for the type of plant that growth in water and waterside to roughly determine the quality of the water.
