สถานการณ์การชุมนุมในปัจจุบันมีความรุนแรงน้อยกว่าเหตุการณ์เมื่อปี 2553 เนื่องจากเป็นเหตุการณ์การชุมนุมโดยปราศจากอาวุธ แต่การเรียกร้องให้สถานที่ราชการต่างๆทำให้เศรษฐกิจของประเทศไทยหยุดชะงัก และส่งผงกระทบอย่างมากในด้านธุรกิจท่องเที่ยว โรงแรมและสายการบิน เนื่องจากขณะนี้มี 30 ประเทศ และ 2 เขตเศรษฐกิจ มีข้อความแจ้งเตือนให้ประชาชนของตนหลีกเลี่ยงเข้าไปในบริเวณที่มีการชุมนุม แต่ไม่ได้ห้ามนักท่องเที่ยวเดินทางมาไทย
