For the sake of the aforementioned issues, a new
feedforward Smith predictor sliding mode control approach
is developed for a class of first order system with integrator
and time delay in this paper. By using a lead-lag networked,
the constant external disturbance can be eliminated. By using
Smith predictor, the time delay can be overcome. By using
SMC, system uncertainties can be coped with. Due to
employing the integral type switching gain, the system
chattering is reduced significantly. By integrating several
control methods together, the proposed approach can achieve
asymptotic stability. A benchmark illustrative example shows
that the proposed approach has good performance, which is a
potential control method in process industry.
